Games: X-Box owners...

Hahahahaha, that last screen, taking modding to the extreme i see. Wow, it seems that the mods for the game take up more space than the game itself.

Unfortunately, my PC spec's arent nearly sufficient to support the game, even on minimal specs. However, i'll most certainly save that post for when i get my new PC (just a matter of time now), because the game sounds incredible. I'll probably go off and buy the X-box version despite all all its stated shortcomings, just to get a sample of what the games like (i can pick up a copy for ?7 , so it wont set me back by much). Im aware that it wont be a touch on the PC version, but it'll have to do for the meantime, especially since the gameplay you described seems to entail everything that an RPG should include (role-playing!).

Regarding the screens depicting the contrasts in graphical quality between the X-box and PC, i see what you mean. I dont know very much about graphical techniques and tools, but its quite evident to me that the texturing in the PC version is superior, as is the lighting and character model detail. The mods seem to pose as an infinite source of entertainment for the PC version, and i'll definately be missing out until i get my PC.

Yes, less and less of the game remains as you mod it; in my game, most textures (most exterior, most interior, all characters, all faces, all items, all enemies, etc.), all character models, all faces, half the trees, some clothes, and all light sources have been replaced, plus there's a lot of new stuff. And that's because I decided to stick to the original island and NPCs. You can replace parts of it, add new ones, or total convert it to something else. For example, there's a town in the woods (everything built on trees, with rope bridges to go from tree to tree) that looked great, I'll try it some day. And the best is all of this is for free.

You can also learn to do your own modding; Morrowind comes with an editor to do everything from landscapes to AI programming, and it's not some half-assed editor for dummies, it's the frigging editor they used to do the game, so you get the real thing and can do the real thing with it (that's why mods are so great and you can replace the whole game with it).

i read that if ToS does well here theyre going to release all the tales franchise games here! that means the PS version of Tales of Phantasia f00l!! THAT WOULD PWN SO HARD!! XD~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I may have to stick to getting it for the GC though, the sales werent as great as Namco expected but, regardless, Nintendo wants to bring it to the USA and europe*, to favour the GC's RPG line-up.
However, Namco havent stated an interest in bringing the PS2 version overseas, similarly with Tales of Destinty II and Tales of Rebirth. Im sure 2 out of the 3 will come out sometime though, and if ToS does reach American shores, it'll be a while after the GC version's release.


*Fortunately, Namco specifically announced the european releases of Baten kaitos and Tales of Symphonia, but left the dates ambiguous.
